Do you think it is better to have only one best friend or a couple of good friends?

As they say, don't place all your eggs in one basket. Sharing all your time, secrets and thoughts with one person can be costly if you were to split up with the person. The person may then spread gossip about you if they leave you, especially if they then befriend people who dislike you. The person may also find someone "cooler" to hang out with, and then you will be all alone. It's nice to have a best friend if you are still a child, children are still quite innocent and just like to play around with each other and have fun. But adults can be more sneaky and vindictive when it comes to friendships, calculating which friends will bring them the most advantages socially.
