At&t problems with signal...?

Ok so me and my friend are having problems. I have an Iphone 4 and she has a Blackberry Torch. My signal keeps going from no bars to "Searching..." and hers keeps going from full bars to SOS. Our internet works fine. Although, mine just went from saying 3G to saying E. Anyone know what's going on?
