Why do people who call themselves Christians have to be such extremists?

What else would you call those that follow Jesus Christ? besides it was the nonbelievers begun calling us that. And as for the protests since the humanists nonbelievers don't have the Holy Spirit to self convict them than we have to enlighten them of the sin that they are causing.
