How to deal with your parents Separating?

My Dad just moved out. My parents are separating for 6 months and I want to know what people do to cope with a parent moving out? My dad told his family that they were separating but my mom didn't tell hers because of issues that no one has time to explain. All the people I feel comfortable talking to I already have or they are on my mom's side of the family. I have already talked to both parents and to all of my friends. It just doesn't seem like enough, I still have an empty feeling inside
